Blog 5 - Drugs!

 

I would like to talk about the question: “What is your opinion about legalizing marijuana and other drugs?”. Personally, I think that our country isn´t prepared for an eventual legalization of marijuana or any kind of drugs. Chilean people don’t have the culture or the intelligence to consume drugs. At first, here in Chile exist people who don’t know what are the consequences of consuming drugs. The vast majority consume drugs just for fun. What I am saying is that the drugs should be to have an existential and deeply experience with ourselves. To give you an example, I will tell you a little history that I lived when I traveled to the wonderful south of Chile since a few years with my brother. I must admit that I have tried different drugs. But the drug I've enjoyed the most was LSD. As I was saying, in my travel with my brother to south of Chile, we consumed LSD. As my brother and I have always been very philosophical and deeper with our thinks, the experience with the LSD was very intense, very significate and totally existential. We don’t consumed just for fun: we consumed for a huge reason. But this experience was possible only because we are conscious people. I am not against the legalizing marihuana and other drugs, but I think that we are not prepared for this. Maybe in ten years more, with a new constitution in progress, we will have the opportunity to discuss drugs and their meaning.
