BLOG 6 - VARIATIONS TO MY STUDIE PROGRAMME

Imagen
This is my last year at the university, and I am so very happy because finally I will finish my career, after long 8 years. The curriculum of my career, “musical composition”, include to many subjects such as: musical analysis, orchestration, counterpoint, harmony, theory and voice practice (solfeo), history of music, electroacoustic music, musical literature, esthetic, investigation, and obviously composition among others. The workload never was a problem for me, because I always loved work hard, and the hours that I invested in the academy was something gratifying for me. The length of studies, seven years, is divided in two degrees: the first four years for the basic stage, and the last three years for the advanced stage (this year it made a curricular change, in which they joined basic stage and superior stage. One of the reasons is so that those of basic stage have the same benefits as those of advanced stage). The buildings and infrastructure of the conservatory it could be...

BLOG 1 - A country I would like to visit.

Imagen
In 2022 I would like to go to Germany, Leipzig. My purpose is mainly to travel to make my Magister. But on my past birthday my mother gave me a present: a trip to Berlin. So that the next year I will travel just for tourism, but in 2022 certainly I will travel for studies. Deustschland is my fauvorite country in the world. I love his culture: this beatifull country have the most important philosophers, a long tradition in music, a broad language and complex grammar;  his people, and the way who they are.  One of my most important goals is to study "Musical Composition" at the University for music and theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, in Leipzig, with the composer Claus-Steffen Mahnkopf. That is my first reason why I want to go to Germany. But I would not only like to study there, but also to travel, to know people, maybe to live or to married. My spirit and my aesthetic project are totally inspired by German culture.

Blog 5 - Drugs!

I would like to talk about the question: “What is your opinion about legalizing marijuana and other drugs?”. Personally, I think that our country isn´t prepared for an eventual legalization of marijuana or any kind of drugs. Chilean people don’t have the culture or the intelligence to consume drugs. At first, here in Chile exist people who don’t know what are the consequences of consuming drugs. The vast majority consume drugs just for fun. What I am saying is that the drugs should be to have an existential and deeply experience with ourselves. To give you an example, I will tell you a little history that I lived when I traveled to the wonderful south of Chile since a few years with my brother. I must admit that I have tried different drugs. But the drug I've enjoyed the most was LSD. As I was saying, in my travel with my brother to south of Chile, we consumed LSD. As my brother and I have always been very philosophical and deeper with our thinks, the experience with the LSD was ...

Blog 4 - My future job?

Imagen
The job future for composers is arguably the hardest. Unlike musical performers, composers dont have permanent jobs in orchestras and are ignored by the culture. A large part of composers ends up teaching at universities. In my case, I have plans to do assistantships, private classes and classes in schools next year. In 2022 I will do my master's degree in composition at the "Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Leipzig, Deutschland", by the composer Claus-Steffen Mahnkopf. I don't really know what will happen with my future when I'm studying in Germany. Maybe I'll stay there to live, maybe I'll never go back to Chile. The truth is that I dont lose the desire to live from composition and do classes in universities in southern Chile, which need teachers of learned this type of music. In short, for me its not an issue, nor does it ask what my work will be in the future, my head does not give for this type of reflections. I'm also...
